UV Day Shield

Why did I developed my sunscreen?

After -yes -4 years of intensive research I am really super proud to present you guys my sunscreen gel. I called it “UV DAY Shield“. …Why UV DAY SHIELD? …very easy, because your skin needs a protection shield against harmful UV rays and pollution.

As you might remember from my instagram posts UVB (B like Burning) gives you the sunburn and is responsible for skin cancer. UVA (A like Aging) is more responsible for your wrinkles and pigmentation on your skin…365 days per year!

Most sunscreens so far, are mostly too creasy or too shiny or left a white coat on your skin behind. Therefore, some of my patients also complained about pimples after the regular usage of their suncreams. Beside this facts I also wanted to develop a sunscreen without octocrylene and homosalate because the coral riffs are important to me.

As all of you hopefully know, you need to protect your skin against pigmentations, against redness and against wrinkles. Therefore, you NEED to use a sunscreen! You NEED to use a sunscreen with a high UVA factor. YES you need to use your skin sun protection every single day of 365 days of the year.

Because “Day” means sun, “Night” means no sun. Theferfore, sun is always shining otherwise it is night.

I also included into my UV Day Shield antioxidants. Therefore, this product is the only skincare product you need in the morning. I designed it with an absolute light texture. So even people with oily and acne prone skin can use it. My sunscreen can be used with sensitive skin too. Niacinamide is also an ingredient which helps to stabilise your skin barrier system and reduces the skin tone unevenness. Hyaluronic acid gives this gel-cream so super light weighted and I love that my sunscreen doesn’t smell chemical than other sunscreen do. Because nothing is worse than smelling every day like sunscreen. My UV Day Shield has a light smell, not heavy just exactly so that you have to smile. My patients love it. 💕 I really hope you will love it too.

By the way the difference between SPF30 and SPF50 is not linear. What do I mean? The difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50 is around 1%. Therefore, I designed mine with a SPF30 but with an extra high UVA protection (A like Aging). So you an use it every single day of your 365 days and prevent your skin against dark spots, elasticity loss (wrinkles) and redness on your face, decoltee and of course hands.

What does UV stand for?

UV is the abbreviation for “ultraviolet”, referring to ultraviolet radiation. The best known form of ultraviolet light are ultraviolet A and ultraviolet light B. Both have different wave lengths. Therefore, they also have different energy spectra.

Ok, let me explain it: You know the visible light, of course – the light or colors you can see. Then, of course, there’s also light you cannot see. Some of these forms of light, you can feel in a kind of heat or warmth. For example the UVB light. Unfortunately, the more also problematic one, the UVA radiation, you can neither see nor smell nor feel. And this is what it makes both so dangerous.

What is UVA?

UVA rays have a wavelength of 315-380 nm. They are long, but not very energetic. However, they go deeper into the skin. Therefore they are responsible for wrinkles, pigmentations and redness.

UV-A A like Aging!! The UVA rays break down your collagen. Therefore your skin ages and loses its elasticity.

What is UVB?

UVB rays have a wavelength of 280-315 nm. These rays are short and very energetic. They don’t go deep into the skin, but they can cause sunburn and cause cancer. UV-B like BURNING!

How much sunscreen do I need for a good protection?

As you can see you need more sunscreen for your face than you thought. You should put one peace sign on your face every morning to get peace for your skin!

What are antioxidants?

Antioxidants are like protection shields for your skin cells. Free radicals are harming these shields, therefore you need help! Antioxidants can protect your skin cells. Try to eat a lot of vegetables! Choose vegetables rich in colours; then colours indicate a high impact of antioxidants. Choose rainbow coloured food, for example, peppers, kale, spinach, zucchini or pumpkins.

While working out or having stress our body is producing free radicals. These free radicals are like bullets. These bullets are harming the surface of our skin. Furthermore, these free radicals are neutralised by an elaborate antioxidant defence system consisting of enzymes such as catalase, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, and numerous nonenzymatic antioxidants. These include vitamins E and C, glutathione, ubiquinone, and flavonoids. (1)(2) In conclusion, using micronutrition especially relevant Vitamin E and C can help your body and skin to regenerate as well. A combination of 200 mg vitamin E, 600 mg vitamin C, and 100 mg ubiquinone (co-enzyme Q10) can help to keep your antioxidant level high. Furthermore, glutathione or other antioxidants as OPC can improve your antioxidants level. Therefore you’re resistant to free radicals and you get a better brighter skin texture. You get a healthy skin! Go out and have fun!
