Hello everybody! My name is Dr Liv Kraemer, but all my patients call me Dr Liv. I’m a dermatologist with focus on skincare and skinfood. Are you travelling long-distance for holidays or business? I’m a board-certified dermatologist and these are my top 5 skincare tips for long-haul flights to stay fresh:
5 skincare tips
You’re travelling and you don’t know what to use against dry lips or hands? You want to avoid pimples or fade skin? You don’t want to get more wrinkles or pigmentation? These products are always in my bag:
Healthy snacks to go
Always on the run, no time for breakfast or lunch? You want to avoid fast food or convenience food? You ask yourself which food is good for your skin?
- Nuts – they’re rich in omega-3 fatty acids and will help you with dry and flaky skin.
- Pumpkin seeds – eat them raw or use it in salads or soups. They are high in vitamin A which is an anti-aging nutrient and leads to a smooth skin. It is also full of zinc and magnesium which is essential for glossy hair and strong nails.
- Smoothies – but choose fresh vegetables instead of sweet fruits like bananas or apples! Use spinach and cucumber instead.
My skincare tip
But as soon you’re at home, wash your hands, wash your face and remove your make up! It is so important to remove your makeup! Otherwise, the bacteria has time to grow, and you get pimples. Just think like that: You cover bacteria with your makeup. For them, it is like a party-tent underneath they can grow and grow and grow. Therefore, it does not matter how sleepy you are or how long your day was: If you want to have glowy beautiful skin: Remove your makeup – EVERY DAY! If you do not, you are going to rub the bacteria into your pillow. Do not forget to wash your hands first before you wash your face. Afterwards, put your cleanser into your clean hands, foam it and then apply it to your face and massage it on. After this, you have to apply a cream or a serum.
