Antioxidants – food for your skin! Tips by Dr Liv

Hello everybody! I am Dr Liv Kraemer and I’m a dermatologist from Zurich with focus on skincare and skinfood. With this post I will show you why antioxidants are important for your body and your skin.

Why antioxidants?

Antioxidants are necessary for a healthy and youthful skin. Why? As we get older, our skin loses elasticity and thin out, but they can prevent that process. They are like protection shields for your skin cells. Free radicals are harming these shields, therefore you need help! Antioxidants can protect your skin cells.

What should I eat?

Try to eat a lot of vegetables! Choose vegetables rich in colours; then colours indicate a high impact of vitamins. Choose rainbow coloured food, for example, peppers, kale, spinach, zucchini or pumpkins. My secret: Drink green tea! It is a real booster and contains a lot of antioxidants!
